ALIENWARE R9 USERS READ THIS/HUMINAL NOISE FIX

If you have Alienware, DO NOT buy H80. It doesn't fit no matter what you do. The braided cables are too thick and the PSU won't close even if one of the top fans is removed. Got Best Buy's H60 instead and it worked beautifully. Keep in mind that the H60 that Amazon sells is NOT an updated version, the new one has a square design, no LEDs and a thinner profile, the pump is quieter. The fan on the H60 is a real junk so I replaced it with a silent Noctua fan and it's a dream cooler, very quiet and keeps temps below 65 even when playing COD. I'm taking off the stars because for the price it should have a decent fan, it's not that heavy. Also, the weird vibrating noise that a lot of people complain about goes away after a day or two. The thermal paste you put on it isn't very good, so I recommend wiping it off and using your own. Let the thermal paste settle and run the cooler for 24-48 hours straight and that should eliminate any air bubbles and hum.

Pros
  • Precise PWM Control: Dynamically adjust fan speed from 600 to 1700 RPM with Corsair SP Series 120mm PWM fan, minimizing noise or increasing airflow can be increased
Cons
  • Don't remember
