I ordered this valve because it was the exact model I was replacing. The old one just didn't seal and kept dripping. Probably because we have hard water. The replacement was simple, shut off the water supply to the water heater, shut off the gas, connect the hose to the drain pipe and open the drain. I also turned on the hot water faucet at the top so the water would drain faster. I checked that the water level was below the safety valve and then replaced it.
