Ordered this to replace one of my original 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee keys. The plastic part of the key ring is broken. The electronics fit perfectly. No programming or updating required. ***Important Note*** If you remove the electronics from your original key and put it in a replacement before cutting the key for remote use only, your car will be able to start with your original key. for a moment or two, then turn off. This is a safety feature in my car. I put the electronics back into the original. Once they cut out a spare key for me, changed the electronics and everything worked perfectly. Thanks very much!
