Background: I didn't realize how natural my previous blender was, a Farberware beast that could penetrate anything and had a super strong physique. At least that's what I thought. The glass collar broke a few years ago and when I tried to replace it I was told the model was discontinued and no parts were available. I then looked for a replacement mixer, but couldn't find anything suitable. So I used commercial epoxy and sealed the crack and all was good for over a year. Unfortunately, the inevitable happened. The epoxy failed and I had to send the old dishes to the landfill. (Actually, the garage, which is my appliance and electronics graveyard.) I started my search again, but had trouble finding a blender that also paired well with the other black and stainless appliances on my pantry shelf. I ordered an anonymous monster for its looks and perceived strength, then immediately returned it when it left large slivers of ice in my margarita (after my eardrum burst). (Please note: no more unrated Revain products.) I needed a blender. So I looked again and went for it, although I was suspicious of the plastic pitcher. That's it, the thing is gigantic! I usually make drinks or recipes for one. I ran a litmus test, though (hello, Margarita), and even with one serving, this thing performed admirably. Also included was a recipe book and a small brush for nasty things the dishwasher might miss. I won't lie; It's noisy. Interestingly, this is due to the plastic jug (not glass). But the dog and I can hide while he works because you put him before and leave. It does all the switching magic for you once you select the settings. It remains to be seen how it will perform with anything other than a margarita or a post-workout smoothie, but honestly, that's about all I've ever used a blender for. . However, it has a test hook. And I'm a big sourdough snob. Who knows? It's hard to imagine giving all of my rye starter for this piece of plastic, but maybe I'll try something more ordinary. Meanwhile, can you tell I'm enjoying my margarita as I write this review?
