I really liked this toaster in the 3 years and few months it has served us. He fried well. It was a great price at $17. I think I should be glad I only spent $17; however, BLACK & DECKER, it should last much longer than a little over 3 years. Guarantee 2 years. I think I should have bought an extended warranty, but 3 years? Come on, you can do better. The toaster is very light, made of plastic and appears to be of poor quality; However, this has always worked flawlessly (until it did). I think you get what you pay for but still feel the toaster should have lasted over 3 years; Heck, I can get it from a toaster I buy at the dollar store, or even Goodwill. Trouble is, one day I put my toast down, lowered the lever, and the lever never went up. It stays down and doesn't even heat up to toast the bread. The funny thing is that it has been working fine up to this point and I have been using this toaster every week. I don't know if it's better to spend money on another brand as this is probably the 6th toaster I've owned in the last 20 years (I think I love toast). I just want you to know what to expect and what I experienced. I think it's like most other household appliances these days - another one-off product that will die out much sooner than its ancestors.
