Tetra ReptoFilter would be wonderful at twice the price! Here's a QUIET, reliable, and efficient way to keep aquaterrariums clean, fresh, and healthy. Before I ordered and installed this amazingly cheap and powerful filter, my turtle's water was weird, cloudy and smelled a bit like "turtle bowl" (despite frequent partial water changes). I took the device out of the packaging, put in the filter material (only activated carbon and a universal white fiber sleeve), plugged it in and was amazed! The subsequent and immediate waterfall is silent and very strong. In a few minutes, the aquarium turned into a crystal clear aquarium (ie water). I added 3 river minnows to make my little painted turtle happy and the result is amazing. In a 10 gallon aquarium, the device will create a calm flow current. The flawless "waterfall" effect created a virtual whirlpool bath for my little painted turtle. He/she spends most of his time relaxing in his own luxury spa. The little bug looks as happy as a spoiled movie star. I can't vouch for ReptoFilter's performance in large tanks, but I'm sure the "up to 20 gallons" rating is more than accurate. My Tetra ReptoFilter works. 3 weeks without a break. The water flow has not decreased and I currently see no reason to change the filter. When the time comes, everything becomes very simple and very convenient for an inexpensive improvisation. Rarely am I completely satisfied with such a cheap and effective filter system. If you have aquatic reptiles or even a modest aquarium, you can't go wrong with this one. amazingly efficient tank filter.
