As a somewhat experienced oil painter, I thought I'd share my thoughts on these canvases. Perfect. They're much less prone to twisting than other cheap panels I've tried, although they're not completely twist-proof. You should be aware that these boards don't prime very well. You get a rough canvas texture that will show through in your final painting. I would recommend adding a coat or two of acrylic gesso to give them a better surface to hold the paint on. They have a major disadvantage as the dimensions are not accurate. Some measurements on my panels were off by a quarter of an inch (EDIT: I meant 1/16th of an inch). This means you will likely have trouble finding the right frame size in the store. Will I buy them again? Probably. I don't mind adding my own plaster and I make my own picture frames which I sell. I just need to consider the actual dimensions of the panels and adjust the frame size accordingly. If you're drawing and don't want to worry about the frame, that's fine. For those selling their paintings, be prepared to take a few extra steps to prime and frame your work.
