The base is perfect for the GL.inet smart router. I added magnets so the router can be placed anywhere including above the car. The latch isn't really needed and won't fit snugly as the base is solid enough to hold the router even if you add high gain antennas to the router if your router supports antennas. This bracket is required to access the back of the router if required. There is important information like DDNS name or private IP address that you may need to read in case you need to reset your router. Therefore, when you use this holder, you can easily take it out for reading. The bracket hides the reset and router buttons, which can be good or bad depending on the situation.
