Cannot cope with hydrometer tasks

TLDR: the bottom is paper thin and breaks very easily with a push on the floating hydrometer! Mine arrived yesterday so I filled it up and took a sample of the raw materials and put my hydrometer in - the beer is almost done (1.005) so the hydrometer went straight to the bottom and then all of a sudden the beer was spreading all over mine Counter - floating (!) the hydrometer fell on and knocked on the floor, broke through! After cleaning everything, I examined it and found that the thickness of the bottom is exceptionally thin (see photo).
