Review on Stanwood Wind Sculpture Kinetic Spinner by John Kahsar

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Two locations are potential connections

First I bought three different Stanwood sculptures at once - this one was the hardest to assemble. You need two people and a little patience, but it's still pretty quick to put together. Like other reviewers, this one seemed to become rigid after assembly and could not rotate easily. It was disappointing enough that I considered trading it in for a different model. After repeating this a few times, I found that I had over-tightened the 2nd and 3rd bars which, while it didn't look possible, was putting too much pressure on the bottom spin ring, preventing it from freeing itself to turn. Once I untied those two rods, the spinner took off and is now the most visible of the three. I suspect that others who say the spinner loosens over time are actually experiencing the rods loosening and the spinner loosening. Another anchor point is the top cap, which can pinch the top spinner. Use screw lock and don't over tighten and this guy spins even in light winds.
