They have real pockets, both front and back, which is ideal for toddlers who like to keep treasures in their pockets. The front pockets are quite deep, I would say at least 4 or 5 inches, which is enough for a toddler to put their whole hand in. There is a faux zipper for added detail. I like the elastic waistband with a real functional drawstring that allows for a plus size. Light blue denim has a retro 80's style, slightly mustache and distressed look. Black camouflage is sophisticated and adds a rugged look to any outfit. I have machine washed them and tumble dried them. They came out with no shrinkage but the black may have faded a bit. They seem to be made well enough. The fabric is a blend of cotton, polyester and spandex. Not stretchy at all but enough for comfort. Made in Bangladesh.
