The Yacumama Meat Thermometer is easy to use and accurate. I used it to measure the temperature of cold milk and the smoke temperature of frying oil. In extreme cases no problem. The reading is large and easy to read, as well as easy switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit. The long probe needle protects hands from heat. It's also sharp enough to penetrate the center of a frozen steak or chicken breast. Well made and waterproof. I don't have a dishwasher so I can't confirm if it's dishwasher safe. But I threw it in the sink with soapy water to wash it out with no problem. My previous meat thermometer did not survive being submerged in water. A small loop at the top allowed me to hang it around the stove comfortably - a nice touch. All in all a very useful tool for perfect cooking at home. Especially for the summer barbecue season.
