Not waterproof but serves its purpose. Most of time.
I have a puppy that vomited in the car and less than 5 minutes after my puppy got sick he dropped on the seat. So it's definitely not "waterproof". Maybe sustainable. The rest is OK. It would be nice if it were fully attached to the seats, and a way to hold it in place by the headrests without fully detaching it would be cool too. I've already thrown it away. Washed machine and air dried, held up great. Side zippers don't work best for trying to prevent your dog from escaping once you open your car door. They are too thin for that. They do their job. Most of time.
