4.5 stars. I've had this jug for over 3 months and haven't had to change the filter yet. I know there are several reviews complaining about frequent filter changes. I suspect these reviewers live in states with poor water supplies. Zero includes a card with your purchase advising you that the frequency of filter change depends on the quality of your local inventory. Some of the worst water states include the dry climate states (Arizona, California, Texas) but also others you don't even know you have (Illinois). OR and ME are in the best water zones. I'm in a sub high zone (NYC) and the water meter they gave me is still at 0 after 3 months; my last pitcher had to be changed every 3 months whether I really needed it or not. So if you live somewhere where the water isn't bad, this might be a good choice for you. Unfortunately, if you have water problems, it's best to look for a solution that purifies the water at the source, e.g. B. after a filter installed in the sink when a household filter is not suitable. This is unfortunate because bad water is probably the number one reason people buy a water jug. My only complaint about the gauge is that it comes with a place to keep it on top of the jug, but there are no instructions. with instructions DO NOT PLACE THE TEST DEVICE ON THE JUG WHEN STORED IN THE REFRIGERATOR. I did this initially because. I thought it was stored there (and why else would it have a place there?) but then it broke; Customer service says that of course you shouldn't keep the tester in the fridge, and only people who keep water outside the fridge should keep it there. Then why is there no guide for it? I appreciate they sent me a new one, but I read the instructions and could save them some trouble if they documented it. The taste of the water seems to be the same as my previous filter, which didn't seem to do any of that. meticulous work on the zero counter (which, among other things, measures the mineral content). The jar is pretty good, doesn't produce as much mold as some do, but it does seem to leak if you fill it to the brim (which you have to do as it doesn't seem to hold much). Although my last jug leaked more. So overall it's better than the competition so far, but I wish I didn't have to have a water filter jug one day as storage size and leakage seem to be constant issues regardless of brand.
