Great tool - tools and gear

Very good scanning tool for the serious hobbyist or small shop. shop near me. I could no longer update my OTC scanner Gensis System 4.0 which cost thousands of dollars when it went out of production a few years ago. Reading and erasing the engine moduleBut in addition, it performs: PCM/ECM real-time digital and graphic data All CanBus modulesSRSSASTPMSLLive activationMany more. I've used this several times and found that it does everything my OTC does except with free updates. It doesn't have oscilloscope ports or other features that a high-end SnapOn, Mac, OTC, or Matco scan tool does, but if your bread and butter is MIL and other alert indicators for basic code extraction, live data, and activations , This is a great tool. The bad thing is that the instructions and supporting documentation are poorly translated. Not the worst I've seen, but at best it's C+. There are several Foxwell websites for registration, one is dead and unsupported, one appears to be for UK and Europe and one for North America. Each one allows you to register and log in, but not speak to each other. My third attempt was successful. Updating is easy, but my tool had the latest information. I would buy again and possibly even switch to their tablet based tool.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
