Instead of using quarter turn screw grommets like all in-ceiling speakers ever made, these speakers use patented "Quick" mounts. Quick-release fasteners are designed to simplify installation. , but they are less versatile and less stable. The grips do not extend far enough to properly grip the substrate. They also prevent installation on thinner substrates, since the fastener's "tilt" makes it difficult to route. I intended to mount these speakers in 1/4 inch hard plastic ceiling tiles in hopes of mounting and routing the speakers with some material that would add length. Ceiling tile fasteners turned a 10-minute job into a 45-minute job, but even under ideal conditions, these "quick" fasteners save no more than 90 seconds per speaker.
