glue Bullshit. This filter fits the space in the disposable tray lid pretty snugly (it's square, the space is actually diamond-shaped), but the adhesive strip sucks so much it falls off within 24 hours. So I can't judge the effectiveness of odor control when an exploded filter is buried under a pile of scooped up litter and cat poo. I bought these because I couldn't find a genuine brand of Littermaid filters. Since I want to reuse the box/lid I can't fix that with superglue.
