The scarves included in this poi set are amazing. I was very excited when I opened the package and saw how beautiful it looked. The scarves weren't fastened which wasn't a big deal but a little annoying. The problems started when I started spinning. I've been making poi for 17 years. Not professionally, but it's a fun and long-standing hobby of mine and I'm always willing to attend any talent show that needs volunteers. Whenever you add scarves to your poi, it creates a drag that slows the rotation and prevents some tricks from being performed. i expect it The trade-off is that it looks more impressive without setting anything on fire. However, the balance is that you want the poi ball to be heavy so it can be rotated despite the resistance of the scarf. This poi set just isn't heavy enough to carry the included scarves. Especially if you're shooting outside with an extra breeze. I had to swap out the scarves for my kids' talent show for something smaller and lighter because the pretty scarves that came with them just didn't work. I will be looking for another, heavier poi set to use scarves with in the future.
