Necessary toilet seat latches as our little ones would run around and stick their hand in the toilet if someone left the lid open. They do a great job of keeping the lid closed enough to keep your hands off. If you really tug on the lid, it opens a little so your child can put some small items inside if they really want to. But nothing big comes in. It could have been placed closer to the back of the seat so the cover couldn't be lifted at all, but then I found the latch was more difficult to close. After attaching the first one, I had to pry it off and move it a bit lower as it was pushing too hard on the toilet lid and pushing the lid open when closing. I didn't want to break the lid or toilet seat, so I didn't put too much pressure on the rubber tip and cistern. Overall, they were easy to apply and held up very well. It opens and closes easily by pressing the button and pulling at the same time. The child has not yet understood this and hopefully not soon!
