I don't have a thousand dollar knife set but I love to cook and all my knives were pretty dull. We have tried a few "sharpening systems" with no satisfactory result. I remembered watching vintage cars sharpening their pocket knives with stone as a little girl, so I searched a bit and found this one. It arrived quickly and well packaged. The instructions are clear enough but clearly translated by someone whose first language is not English. My husband spent about 1 hour and all my knives were like new. First, soak the stone in water for about 5 minutes. Then run the blade over the stone in the pattern shown. There will be some sand left over, so you'll need to put it on something that washes well (tea towel). In addition, it stays moist for a long time. I had to wait 2 days to remove it. Note that you still need knife steel to keep the blade nice. That should be the last $41 you'll ever have to spend on knife sharpening.
