The biggest finger holes in a child's scissors I could find. My normal adult male fingers barely fit. I took them to my kids group (age 9), all right handed! to give them a feel for what it's like to be left handed, but they are so sharp no one had a cutting problem. I had to take a few righties to show them they were different. I wish I knew about left handed scissors when I was nine! I use a set in the kitchen to open things like gravy packets in frozen pre-made spring rolls so I have to rinse them. After thorough rinsing and drying I don't see any problems. At least the bolt is plastic on the outside. These may just be plastic caps on a metal screw, but it looks like they could withstand submersion and drying without rusting. Time will tell and so will I if I remember!
