The width is wide.
This top is perfect for my crafts. The pillow is thick and I like the hanger at the bottom. When I'm done, I'll hang it in my closet. The width is 2 inches wider than most, which is helpful for smaller ironing projects. There is also a place for an iron. This area appears to be heat resistant.
