Make great cubes but they need to be cleaned after each use. Sucked out dubious white powder?

They make big, nice sized square ice cubes. There are no objections in this regard. My biggest concern is that every time I use them to make ice cream they leave a white powdery residue on the inside of the mold that has to be scraped off after each use. This doesn't happen with my other silicone ice molds. I'm not sure if it's poisonous or what.
