I bought this cat door after an incident where all the neighbor's cats were having a party while we were away. And kicked out my cat. I've had this door for half a year now. I no longer have socks rolled up by my bed to throw at 4am when she thinks it's time to go outside. She didn't want to use it for about 3 weeks. I had to push them through every day. Now she is in complete control. My security cameras sometimes show them going in and out 10 times from midnight to 5am. So I've had several incidents with raccoons, squirrels and rats trying to get in. None of them were successful. In the video I thought my cat was fighting the door. I haven't changed the battery for half a year. So I opened the door and faced the raccoon. He hissed like a cat and ran away. I hate the thought of my cat not being able to get out when there is a fire. Also, she now knows that other cats cannot enter. So she ran back to the door, waited for them and put out her hand to hit them, and then went back inside. Since I get updates on my phone every time she uses the door, I would say that's over 2,000 times a year. So yes, "changing a life" when it comes to a cat door sounds ridiculous, but it actually was.
