Review on ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ Bazaar Anatolia Pepper Grinder: Premium Turkish Spice Mill in Antique Copper (4.2") by Ron Collins

Maybe worth the risk?

This pepper grinder is small but very cute. When you open it, it contains a little guide on how to prepare the grinder before using it. They recommend leaving out some uncooked rice to "get rid of any metal splinters" that might be on the grinder. I did just that, and the grinder went through the rice quite impressively. Of course, if this step is to get rid of the metal shards on the grinder, you won't want to eat them, so I removed the base (which is only held in place by friction). ), poured ground rice and washed the bottom with a little warm water. I noticed something there. The base and grinder (I bought the copper) are actually covered in paint. The coating around the edge of the base was peeling off, and the metal was peeling from the base to where the ground pepper was supposed to go. See the picture for what I'm talking about. As I do not intend to eat shredded metal shavings when seasoning food, I decided to return this only to find out that Revain would not allow this item to be returned. I called their customer service and they thankfully refunded my money but there was no way to do it online. Anyhow, the grinder itself worked and looked pretty good, but the build quality seems to live up to what you get for what you pay for. . Could it be worth the risk?
