We went through two separate sets of cables and two separate dashcams (first dashcam had no sound), both didn't work in parking mode! This is a KNOWN issue with this brand! Do your research and see for yourself. The red ACC wire to the switched 12V power supply, the yellow VCC wire to the 12V DC power supply, and the black wire to a good vehicle ground. Installation without problems! The position of both fuses (and alignment) is checked with a voltmeter and confirmed with a key in the on and off position. I even went as far as locking the car and waiting upstairs for over 30 minutes to confirm power or no shutdown. I also tried plugging the unit directly into a 5V USB power adapter (using the cable that comes with the dash cams) to play the "forced parking mode" but after waiting again for 30+ minutes it worked never put the device into park mode. No blue light (to indicate parking mode) and no voltage selection option in the IOS app (presumably the option you see when using the cable kit). Some have reported that connecting the ACC and VCC wires together solves the problem. no problem with parking mode but for me the device just ran as usual when you parked the car. This is NOT a solution, and assuming it might not even provide overload protection for your car battery. Simply put, give it up if you're looking for a parking mode option. I have since replaced this kit and associated dash cam with another brand and it works great!
