That's how it works, but the wires are so thin that the on / off switch ripped off right away. I had to re-solder the wires and everything was working before my replacement arrived. The sound quality of the speaker is not very loud and distorted. There's no volume control, so you get what you get. Be sure to use a Micro-USB-B sync cable and NOT a Micro-USB charging cable, or your computer will not recognize the drive. I installed some mp3 sound files exactly as the instructions say, but I have to press the button 2, 3, sometimes 4 times for the next sound to play a few seconds apart. I tested this on a replacement that was also sent and reproduced the problem and you still have to press the button to play the next sound. Also, pressing the button while the sound is playing breaks the whole loop and randomizes the sequence, which is frustrating when you want them to play in a specific order, even if you follow the instructions 01 to play the sound files sequentially have numbered ,02,03 . etc. It's very weak but it works and will do the job but they really need to improve the wiring with better solder joints so they don't break, improve the speaker quality and for god's sake please add a volume control!
