Review on The Sak Ventura 2-in-1 Convertible Backpack and Handbag by Stephanie Garcia

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I didn't want to like this bag.

I've been looking for a shoulder bag that can be converted into a backpack for a very long time. I've bought others that meet some of my criteria, but not all. A bag turned into a backpack in no time, but it turned out to be too small. Another bag was too much of a hassle to turn into a backpack because the leather didn't slip through the loops easily. The first bag didn't have enough straps to carry the shoulder bag. The second bag was cavernous and weighed a ton unloaded. The Ventura bag met all of the concerns above. Converting to a backpack is quick and effortless. It's big enough for my phone, tablet, wallet, cosmetic bag, travel umbrella, handful of keys, and room for more. However, it's not so huge that it looks like you could take it on a hike. The bottom is square enough to stand up on. I would give it five stars if: 1. it had some sort of little loop or handle sewn in at the top. (Leather is smooth and difficult to pick up without puckering the straps.) 2. It had a plain zipper instead of a flap. (I prefer to be able to get only what I need. I'd rather have the flap on one of the side pockets.) Still, it's as close to perfect as I've seen, and I recommend those Ventura.
