Missing Soft Washer

Installation was easy. I have a kitchen faucet with an external thread and simply screwed a custom-fit threaded socket onto the filter. Feeling competent for a moment, I turned on the water and expected the new filter to work perfectly. At least a dozen narrow jets of water shot out of the threaded socket with a force reminiscent of the destruction of the Death Star. The dog didn't laugh. My wife was less so. Feeling humiliated for a moment, I undressed the little creature and examined the sleeve. It was fitted with a hard plastic disc. To win back my dog and wife's respect, I started looking in the kitchen trash drawer for a soft washing machine. My peripheral vision was bolted to an unused female adapter that was left on the kitchen counter. The perfect puck - soft, flexible and perfectly fitted - rested in a trash can adapter. I put a soft washer into the threaded bushing on the filter assembly, installed and tightened the filter and turned on the water. Perfection! The amount of water this filter produces is impressive. This is not the characteristic falloff you would expect from most filters. I like the 500 liter capacity. You no longer have to run to Home Depot every two months to buy a new filter. The instructions are short and confusing and I believe that the marketing of a very good product would be greatly enhanced if the installation instructions were handy and there was a matching soft tap washer in the threaded bushing of the filter.
