Perfect Replacement for DYCONN Quartz 5

My Dyconn Quartz 5 Bay RAID Enclosure died. Probable cause of some of the power outages we've had lately. No complaints, the machine has worked day after day for about seven years. But when I went to repair/replace, I found that repair options were scarce and expensive. And the device was discontinued some time ago. All the sellers I checked were sold out. So I decided to replace this Syba module by simply formatting and reusing the same drives. When I put the drives in (each in the same bay as the old unit), set the dip switches to RAID 5 and plugged it in, the old DYCONN software came up and said the array was fine and ready to use. To be clear, the EXISTING array still existed! So it is obvious that Syba uses the same chipset as DYCONN. In order not to mess it up, I installed the Syba software, and you know what? This is EXACTLY the same software that DYCONN used. The only difference is that one says DYCONN and the other says SYBA. Well, maybe not quite - it's Syba that also gives me the SSL checkbox on the email notifications setup screen. But otherwise each screen is identical. I ran my (previously failed) backups (I use SyncBackPro) and they picked up where they left off like nothing had changed! 100% success. So it goes without saying that I am a happy camper. I know this won't help many, but if you're facing the same problem as me, this is a great solution. literally plug and play! :-)
