Review on ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ SPT SF-612R: Powerful Evaporative Air Cooler with Innovative 3D Cooling Pad by Mike Littlejohn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's not a refrigerated air conditioner, it's an evaporative cooler, meaning you want low humidity.

The number of stars corresponds to the price-performance ratio. There are better devices, but they cost 3-4 times more. Also, if your climate is such that you have over 30% relative humidity, which is pretty much everywhere east of the Rocky Mountains, this won't work for you. This works best in the Southwest desert, unless it's the rainy season. The humidity is well over 30%. It's designed for small spaces, not entire homes. It does well in an area of 400 square meters or less. I recently took this on a van fishing trip and we camped outside for a while. My alternator is low on power and not enough power for the trailer air conditioning so I started it via the inverter/generator combo when the battery level dropped and even though the temperature was over 95 degrees (at 8% relative humidity) the trailer stayed on (26 foot box) is supported under 80 degrees. Today the maximum temperature in the California high desert is about 103 (about 10% relative humidity). I use it with the swing function to blow cool air while I work on my truck, making the process bearable. My hot garage. As for the leak that others have complained about, the only issue I had was when it wasn't as level as it was during the fishing trip I mentioned. When you remove the screw from the strainer, lift it up, you will see the water flow down the platform. If the device is tilted backwards slightly, it is possible for water to get from the seal onto the plastic housing and then leak out. You may think your floor is level, but I can put a level on many floors and it will show the level. The solution is to just put something under the rear wheels to elevate the back of the unit a bit, then gravity will do the rest. If you've used hard water, the holes in the gutter at the top of the pad can clog. Therefore, you need to clean these holes regularly. You can get replacement pads at your local hardware/household store, you will need to cut them to size. If the water pump fails, you can buy a simple fountain pump from the same place. I use a surge protector because it contains electronics and a surge in power can turn it off. After all, you can't use it in a closed house or room. You should have at least two windows open on opposite sides of the room to allow some air to circulate. If you don't do this, you will only create moisture in the room, which is no longer effective. When the wind isn't blowing to allow for natural airflow, I use one of these window fans listed on a window in another part of the house. In short, it more than meets my expectations for a device in this price range. . If you have high expectations, you should go to your local hardware store and buy their devices, which cost $500 or more and blow out a lot more air. That's my opinion, I hope it helps. For your health!
