Review on Intermatic IModule IG120RSM10K Replacement Module Smart Guard Protector by Richard Cuneo

I purchased a 3 pluggable unit in July 2018 and it was professionally installed by an electrician who installs multiple surge arresters but not this model. I bought this model thinking it was an improvement over the break-in/replacement version. It's not like this. In September we had a flood in our neighborhood and I lost my TiVo and the temp gauge on the fridge. Our indicator lights are still on, so apparently the surge didn't go through them. So I figured the installer didn't install it properly at first, so it cost him another $165 to go back and double-check his work. Installed to specification. As a result, I lost all confidence in the device's ability to protect my extensive and expensive electronics. Coincidentally, I was waiting for the delivery of a Powerwall Tesla backup battery that would absorb any dips or spikes. They were installed yesterday and Intermatic was removed. Their warranty is very restrictive so I have no hope of getting back what I paid let alone over $300 in electrician fees. I was particularly disappointed as Intermatic is a good brand but this unit was thrown away after 3 months and a costly breakdown.
