Bang-For-Buck makes a good find set. I used it to identify, test and connect all of the wiring for my pre-wired home audio system. Part of the pre-wiring were separate room controllers connected with CAT5E cables. Use this tester to determine which wires go to which zones, then test the RJ45 connector plugs after they are installed. Worked well to determine which audio cables go to which speaker. It doesn't have a great detection range in trace mode, maybe an inch or two. You can't really see through drywall. Unfortunately, the tone generator stopped working before I finished the project. This was a disappointment as I had to spend more to buy a more expensive unit from a local big store. We tried new batteries and disassembled the device looking for burnt chips, bad contacts on the circuit board, etc. for free.
