Full installation requires removal of tank

To install the tower, the tank must be removed from the bowl. In my case it was the 70's so the bolts in the tank were pretty rusty which made the task difficult. Luckily there are new screws in the kit so there were no problems reassembling. There was some type of sealant or caulk around the old o-ring between the reservoir and bowl and nothing was listed or mentioned in the instructions so I just removed all of the old sealant and followed the instructions and it all worked great. This was a project I made for my dad who was tired of taking 3+ minutes to fill a tank. It takes about a minute after installing this kit, 1/3 of the time before installing. The only thing I had to buy out of the blue was a new flexible lead. The old lead was tight and the new connector from this kit was about 1/8" deeper than the old one when installed, so I couldn't connect the old lead tightly. It might be a good idea to swap out the lead anyway, especially in a situation like this when everything is so old I didn't think to measure the distance before going to HD, luckily my dad was still at home so I could call ask him about the measure because I was about to purchase a line that was much longer than it was supposed to be, the only thing I would do differently is order a new umbilical at the same time to save myself a trip to the store mid-install. The instructions also mentioned that some brands require a different gasket which was not included, but that was not the case in our case. You can find instructions online so you know what is involved and what you can do You may need to complete the project. And if your supply line is tight, this kit gives you the flexibility to adjust.
