I recently dropped my iPad Mini 4 and while it wasn't damaged I found that my case didn't offer enough protection. Decided on this one after reading the reviews. It's not heavy, but seems to offer protection in the corners where I was most concerned. The lid flips up and works like an easel. When I use my iPad for reading, the case folds comfortably behind the tablet and is not awkward to hold. I had no issues with button alignment or charging cable connection.
