Review on Cooler Master V850 Gold V2: Full Modular 850W Power Supply with 80+ Gold Efficiency and Semi-Fanless Operation by Adam Cooper

This is a PSU, it should do what it is supposed to do and it does. The only problem is that the fan on this unit is not what I would call quiet. It's not an RPM issue and the device is rated gold, so it's very efficient. It looks like the fan bearing is noisy and makes a slight grinding noise, it's actually not that bad under load when it's spinning faster. It's most noticeable on desktop when idling, much louder than any other fan in my case. If you press the zero speed mode on the back of the power supply, the noise will disappear immediately.
