Review on 🚰 Revolutionary Countertop Filtration Purification System Unveiled by Jill Williams

Revainrating 4 out of 5

STILL great product!

Day 1 - 10/09/2017 Today we received our AquaTru countertop reverse osmosis system. We've been using the Zen water system for a number of years and have enjoyed it, but we wanted a reverse osmosis system. We set it up and ran the required 5 tanks to flush the filters before we started sampling/testing. That's great! Quiet, fast (approx. 12+/- minutes per 3 liters). It tastes great! The filtered water tank is a bit smaller than our old Zen system, which had a 5 gallon filtered water tank, but I think the speed of the AquaTru makes up for the smaller tank (Zen was noticeably slower). The Zen system was also more difficult to maintain as it cleaned components, tanks, etc. The AquaTru's smaller tanks will be much easier to maintain. We have a TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) tester that measures dissolved solids in PPM (parts per million). Our unfiltered tap water contains 230 to 270 ppm dissolved solids. AquaTru filtered water is approximately 33 ppm. I have also tested effluent containing the removed containments and dissolved solids removed from your water. It has been tested at over 530ppm. We will update this review at some point in the future based on our experiences over time. Day 2 - 10/10/2017. filled, filtering stops. When the filtered water is poured from the tank, the device will automatically start filtering the water until the filtered water tank is full or the tap water tank is empty. As long as there is enough water in the tap water tank, the device keeps the filter water tank full. When the tap water tank needs to be emptied of dirty water and refilled, a large indicator appears on the front display. Upgrade Room: The filtered water tank is fed from the bottom front by pressing a button that releases water. The knob is a little hard to get good control over the flow rate. When you fill a container or a glass, it's a great strong flow. When filling an ice cube tray or similar shallow container, controlling the flow so it doesn't splatter all over the place is a bit more difficult, but not impossible. In addition, water continues to flow for about a second after you release the button. Just a few things to know so you don't overwhelm. Still very impressed and the water tastes great! UPDATED: Month 6 - 4/14/2018 ------------- ------------ We have been using AquaTru for a little over six months. It still works and tastes great! We have ordered a replacement filter set but haven't had to change it yet. On a typical day we filter 1 to 4 tanks. We also bought a second fresh water tank and kept it in the fridge. There are times with a high number of participants (guests in the house, etc.) and times without refueling (trips away, etc.). We have found a (probably rare) issue that we fear is reducing pump life etc. We live in a house that is over 70 years old. Aqua Tru is on the kitchen worktop. Sometimes the water in the tank can slosh a little when there's a small earthquake (we live in Southern California), a truck drives by, etc. (because of our old house). If the tank is full, the filter water sensor assumes that the tank is no longer full. The pump turns on and almost as soon as the water splashes back and touches the sensor, the pump turns off, typically less than 1 second. This causes the water to slosh even more and sometimes replicate itself. The pump continues to cycle on and off very quickly. Sometimes we hear the device in the middle of the night and we have to get up to remove enough water so that the sensor stops triggering. If AquaTru waited a few seconds before turning on the pump, or recognized this rapid on/off of the full tank sensor, it would likely eliminate these false alarms. Due to this issue I'm reducing my rating to 4 stars. This is an uncommon situation that probably won't affect everyone, but can be avoided simply by changing technology or software. ------------------------ We still use AquaTru on a daily basis, but there is only one issue not mentioned above. We are concerned that in all this time the device has not once instructed us to change any of the filters! The various filters are expected to last six months, one year and two years. By my rough guess we recycled more than our estimated gallons. Inside the box was a sheet that told us to press the reset button on the back of the device for a specific amount of time. We made it. I assume this was to reset the counters used for each filter. I order all filters to be reinstalled and reset the unit. And this time we will monitor the six-month filter more closely. -------------- The original unit we bought in 2017 is still in daily use, often multiple tanks a day! I have disabled filter reminders. I only replace them based on the calendar. Replace pre-filter and activated carbon filter every six months and reverse osmosis every 12 months. Yesterday I used the AquaTru descaling kit - I recently found that it is available on the AquaTru website. There was a small problem because I followed the instructions too closely. It will ask you to remove the filter cover, remove the normal filters and insert the descaling filters. The instructions state that you should run the descaling liquid through the AquaTru. They didn't tell me to put the filter cap back on. The device does not work without a filter cover! I spent an hour trying to figure that out. During the descaling process, the device stopped filtering once or twice on each run, as expected. After the descaling is complete, run clean water at least twice. I had a problem with the block not starting. I left it overnight and it started to work fine. After washing, I washed the tanks, put in new filters, added water and again it wouldn't start. When turned on there is a faint click, then nothing. Reinstalled everything, same result. I leave it for a few hours, I hope it works again. Обновление, чтобы следовать.ОБНОВЛЕНО ДЕНЬ 1,452 - 01.10.2021-------------------------------------- -------------- -----The problem is solved! We have two water only dispensers so we can keep one in the fridge. When I washed them, water got into the handle where the sensor is supposed to see if the dispenser is full. The other dispenser works fine. You just need to drain the water from the handle and let it dry inside.
