Poor Quality: my feedback

I wound a toroid covered with teflon tape to prevent shorting to the core. After one use windings had arced to each other. I had not reached any where near the rated temperature or current ratings. So thought this was a fluke so wound again with a new piece of this wire and it lasted about the same time and shorted between turns.Wound the toroid again with another brand of wire with the same ratings and it has been fine ever since. Obviously poor quality enamel coating.
