Review on OM Digital Solutions WS-500 Digital Voice Recorder: Capturing Crisp Audio in Sleek Silver by Joshua Talbot

I bought this little device to record sermons at my church and it's a gem! There are no instructions for use with the device, but it took me only 10-15 minutes to figure everything out - everything is very simple! Everything I use it for only needs a charge once every 5 or 6 weeks - just hold the stop button for a few seconds while plugging it into the computer's USB port. Folders cannot be renamed, but any file you add can be added using your computer's keyboard when the device is connected to the USB port. The sound quality depends on the sound system used. The unit's two small speakers do a good job, and the included headphones do a great job in terms of sound quality - I burn everything to disc or copy to a flash drive, so the speakers don't bother me much. . There is only one downside to this device that I can think of. Unlike older analog mini-cassette recorders, this unit (as far as I can tell) doesn't allow you to add anything to an existing recording without starting a new track with a separate track. You can pause and resume recording easily, but if you stop recording, you won't be able to add anything. It doesn't usually matter much unless you're dictating and get interrupted and have to rewind to collect your thoughts. Overall, this is a great little tool that's well made and well worth the price.
