Okay, the switch is $33, so minus one star. It is too expensive. The button works fine, and why not. he has a job On or off BUT the ON LED is red! In the circles I live in, aerospace and automotive, red is not "normal". Red is bad, red is a warning, red is wrong. GoPower wants you to believe that red is a normal "turn on". Strangely, on some other Inv remotes, the power indicator is green. Find out. To make matters worse, the red LED has supernova brightness! I mean, this thing can drive Santa's sleigh on a dark and blustery Christmas Eve. See photo. I hated red so much that I unsoldered the 5mm LED on the board and plugged in green. Bought some spare green LEDs from Revain, but the one that worked best (wasn't too bright) was "100 pcs LED Filament Bulb Clear LEDs 5mm (Multicolor)" sold by LEI NUOSEN for about $5. In fact, there are two types of green in this pack: green and emerald. Green was the perfect brightness for me, emerald was much brighter. Update: My RV has 30 feet (wire spacing) between the inverter and the remote location. The cable supplied by GoPower is only 20 or 25 feet long. So I pre-connected my trailer to a 40 foot phone cord. Connected the GoPower remote (with the cable provided) to the inverter on the workbench, everything worked perfectly. Installed the inverter in the caravan, plugged in the remote control (using my pre-wired 4-wire "phone cable"), didn't work! Aaaaaa! It took me a while to figure it out, but here is the problem and the solution. The cable supplied by GoPower is a flat 4-wire telephone cable with telephone/RJ11 jacks on each end. RJ11 connectors only use the middle 4 pins, pins 2, 3, 4, 5. It looks like a standard phone cord, and it is, but it's not exactly the same. This is because the telephone cable can be connected directly or vice versa. Forward cables are often used for data transmission while return cables are used for voice transmission, for example in a telephone. A "pass-through" cable connects the wires on both sides of the cable with the same metal pins. Pin 2 to pin 2, pin 3 to pin 3, etc. The "return cable" is the other way around. Pin 2 to Pin 5, Pin 3 to Pin 4, Pin 4 to Pin 3, and Pin 5 to Pin 2. See Fig. The included GoPower cable connects "straight through". If you buy a standard voice phone line, it will most likely be wired in reverse. The solution: You need a pack of new RJ11 connectors (you can only crimp them once and they can't be unclipped) and a special crimping tool. I bought mine at Home Depot but Revain, Lowe's, Ace etc have them. Cut ONE end of your "phone cord" near the jack, rotate the wire 180 degrees, and then crimp it with a special tool. just put an end to it Leave the other end as is. Now it is "straight" connected. Now everything works, green light and done!
