I bought these to replace 15 year old Monster speaker cables whose banana plug caps were becoming brittle and starting to break. When I first bought the Monster cables I tried a dozen different speaker cables and for the price the Monster cables gave the cleanest sound. When I connected them, the difference was between day and night. The sound is much cleaner and, dare I say, louder at the same volume. The build quality is quite solid. The PVC cable jacket is strong yet flexible. The gold-plated banana plugs fit snugly but not too tightly on the receiver and speaker. Banana jackets are made of high quality plastic and should last a lot longer than monster rubber jackets. The silver ring near the banana plugs appears to be metal, but I'm not sure if it's metal or high-quality plastic. I would have preferred full metal shells but I'm sure that would increase the overall cost. Overall, I highly recommend these cables.
