Review on Potensic P5G Drone With 4K Camera: GPS, 5G WiFi, Auto Return Home & 40 Mins Flight Time! by Julie Terrones

Alright for the price

This drone is cute and fun to fly. It's not like the more serious $1500 drones. The camera only has 90 degrees of rotation about a single axis, from straight ahead to straight down. If you want to rotate in any other direction, you have to rotate the entire drone. This also means that if there's any wind and the drone has to tilt to remain stationary, your pictures will be angled. Also, the camera has a very strong fisheye effect and the pictures aren't clear. That said, flying is enjoyable. You have to connect a phone (or tablet) to the drone's WiFi in order to have full control, but mostly you can just use the controller. The controller has a better range than the WiFi, so at some point the drone may move out of range of the phone, but you can still control it with the controller. The phone allows some automated functions, such as taking off and landing without human guidance. It also allows the follow and home functions. I haven't made the home function work properly yet. When I tried to use the function, the drone tried to fly away, but I had it on a long rope. I've been burned before. The drone defaults to "beginner mode" where the range is limited, but you can take it out of this mode and set your own limits as to how far the drone can fly from you and how high it can go. Flying it does take some practice, partly because of the light weight. The mass makes the drone more susceptible to wind, which makes both flying and taking pictures more of a challenge. The first time I used the drone, I took the memory card out right away to transfer photos, and the card was quite hot. I don't know how normal this is. I usually don't remove the card right away. One thing I dislike about the drone is the noise. It's louder than it should be, loud enough that I don't like flying it at home, so I go to a park or something to fly.I wanted to fly it over the water and get some video that way, but with even a light wind, the drone tumbled quite a bit, and I didn't want to lose it in the water. The other thing I really dislike about this drone is the batteries. The connectors are standard MicroUSB, but I left two batteries plugged in overnight and neither of them charged above 30%. You actually have to use the (single) included cable to get a good charge. Also, the charge indicator light is on the cable, not the battery.Overall, I would say that this drone is worth the money. It's not a high-end photography drone, and it's not a stealthy surveillance drone. It's also not a children's toy. It's a beginner-level drone with some decent intelligence built in. The back pack it comes with is made to fit a child-sized person, but is serviceable. If you're traveling by bike, you might want to get a hard case, but most of those will cost at least as much as the drone. You'll also want to keep an eye on it. Most of the time when it crashes, even lightly, the battery pops out, so you'll lose control. You'll want to know where it went down.
