A designer decided to give the toaster a neat "retro" look by showing the toast blackout setting on the display rather than the markings around the knob you used to set it. However, the sensor is small, with small numbers and impossible to read unless your head is above the level of the toaster, which almost always will be the case. So you'll have to bend down and look into the tiny meter to see how dark it's set. And it turns out you'll have to keep changing the setting, as the toast comes with a warning that the toast will come out differently for any given setting, depending on whether you're making two slices of toast or one. Overall I was sure that the toaster would be annoying every morning I used it. I returned it. It has wider slots than most - a full inch and a half - which is why I bought it. But that's not enough to keep it up. Also note that the toast lifting lever barely lifts the toast for easier removal, which is pretty much useless.
