Celestron (and other brands) Goto telescopes, cooled astrophotographic cameras and dew heaters typically use DC power. It's far easier to run a few of these converters to power a backyard implement than wondering if your field batteries have enough charge to power your gear all night. Leave field batteries plugged in so they're fully charged when you head out into the country.
