lint dryer, who would have thought of it or given it away? Just like any other device, like our cars, we just put the key in, fill up with gas or pocket it if you don't forget and keep having fun, right? Who knew the devices we take for granted needed maintenance? rude ok? Well, when it comes to your car, if you don't maintain it, it stops working. You don't serve her with your dryer, well you don't. Clothes take longer to dry, and for some mysterious reason, a metal closet is much warmer than it was before, or at least that's what people think. Who checks how warm their drying cabinet is? In winter it makes sense to have this additional heat source. It would be in a fantasy world, you know, where someone else would take care of everything for you. The last time I had this was when I was living with my parents and that was a very long time ago. So let's get to the reasons why you MUST do this maintenance. Fluff is tiny bits of fiber from your clothes that break off during the drying process and blow out the vent tube attached to the back of the dryer. When everything is shiny and new, most of it is likely to be blown into the atmosphere or onto your expensive landscaping near your home. But like a layer of dust that collects behind a TV or dresser for clothes, it gets thicker and denser over time. As it begins to grow, the surface becomes a mountain range at a microscopic level, with nooks and crannies like your favorite English muffin, giving more room to catch all those tiny bits of fiber from your favorite t-shirt or pair of jeans. When you think about it, it's like our arteries choosing this delicious burger over rabbit salad. The holes keep getting smaller. Well, there is hope and a cure, but not for your arteries, which require lifestyle changes and lots of exercise. So to help with both. Get this kit and the extension if your dryer vent pipe is over 12 feet long or in my case it is only accessible at the back of the dryer so I had to get an extension. Determine if a) you have access to the exhaust end of a dryer vent outside of your home; b) how difficult it will be to move the dryer AND, if applicable, the washing machine to get the specified access. Melody. Ladder, cordless or corded drill and long extension cord, flashlight, shop vacuum with 2 1/2" hose (Your carpet vacuum will be overloaded with debris that will eventually come out, so don't try), but there is hope, more on that later) someone helps move the dryer. So, I was talking about that training? In some homes, the exit of the dryer vent is obvious, for example, if it's in the garage or on the ground floor, a dryer vent can be much more difficult. Turn on in those cases put the dryer on and hear/feel the outer vents to remove the air. If you're not on the roof like me, go to the ladder hole I mentioned earlier. Now let's work those muscles! Climb up and down, because man forgot to take the flashlight, and then according to the fan cover, extra tools.Hope you can put this vacuum adapter in the outer hole.It can be used with metal g itter be covered to keep those pesky birds from vacating the house. If this is the case, you may need some tools to remove the screws or, worse, the nails holding the mesh. Okay, I think you get the picture. Since the exit in my case was on the roof of a two story house, climbing all the way to the top of the roof was NOT an option. I didn't want to slip and fall at home. Because with this kit, the vacuum adapter has a smaller connection for inserting flex rods and brushes on the same side as the vacuum nozzle. The guide says this setup is not ideal, but doable. Since I had already removed both French doors to the washer/dryer room and started moving the washer (why the washer? In our setup, the appliance doors turned out to be upside down, as was the washer/dryer. This was a problem since AND our washer and dryer are on pedestals. Also, our washer is on rubber feet that are taped on to keep it from moving (see my other review on this).!Now the fun part, removed the flexible hose for drying , first hooked up the flex wand and brush, attached vacuum cleaner adapter, then shop vacuum, next piece of flex wand, and then finally the power drill. Because I didn't know how far the dryer vent was, I just continued to attach the next length of flex wand to 6 .. , I felt a resistance and stopped pressing the brush.then continued the work of the vacuum cleaner fo rt and began the return journey for the rotating brush. Twenty or 30 minutes later I think the final length of the flex bar is back on the vacuum adapter and it's time to see the trophies of all that drama and gym training. Now it's time to pull yourself together and figure out how to get it. Puck back onto those rubber feet and put everything back together. The next day I missed my work. Pros: Cheaper than hiring someone to do the work for you, and you have the tools to do it again in the future. Heck, offer to make it to your family and friends for dinner or some money. Easy to use and was direct. The dryer is much cooler and the clothes come out drier than before the lint was removed. CONS: The vacuum adapter doesn't fit what I thought was our dryer vent due to the non-removable metal cover being attached under the plaster. . If an angled tube had been fitted to this adapter prior to connecting the vacuum hose, this might have been fixed. The price is a bit high for what you get, but it's fair for what it does. GENERAL: If you are comfortable moving your equipment and working with an electric drill/vacuum, I recommend getting one and doing it! Your clothing and electricity bills will thank you.
