What I wanted from the device: A battery operated receiver that would allow me to carry it around the house. There's a limit to how far you can go, and the wall of the house definitely reduces the distance to well under 500 feet, but it allows me to mow the yard up to 100 feet away and work in my woodworking shop annex (with the device in the window) and answer the call assistance. Cons: The recipient keeps answering calls. So if you don't remove the battery when you don't need to use the patient button, the battery in the receiver will drain pretty quickly. There are many alarm clocks to choose from (too many - some speak Chinese) and as mentioned, once you find one you like and follow it, you'll have to listen to them all again to get to the one you want.
