Review on Body Pillow Maternity Pregnancy Orthopedic by Kiesha Butler

Not plush, not 100% latex

Conclusion: Not that plush and not 100% latex according to the label on the box. When it arrived I opened it up to find a disappointing chemical smell. Then I see the conflicting label "CertiPUR-US: Contains Certified Flexible Polyurethane Foam" on the packaging (see image). Polyurethane foam is NOT latex. Latex is made from trees, but this one smells like it's made from something else. Just google polyurethane to find out more. In addition, the foam itself is friable and contains light green peanut shaped particles that do not look like latex (see attached image) - unlike the white/cream colored natural latex that mattresses are made from. Also, the "plush" cover is a little soft, but it's not microfiber, which is what the word "plush" usually means. Looks like a cheap loose knit (again, see photo). I didn't even bother to open my package and will probably just buy something from a maternity store where the products are guaranteed to be the same as advertised. Disappointed with Revain due to the marketing and even promotion of this scam product without bothering to test it. I was also surprised that others didn't realize that the packaging actually states that the composition contains polyurethane. Nowhere on the packaging does it say that it is GOTS certified. The item has a homemade paper insert that says 'made from a blend of 100% natural latex' - curious what they were thinking as it also contains polyurethane.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
