Review on 📞 Konftel EGO KO-910101081 | Personal Portable Bluetooth Conferencing Unit by Eli Saumell

Just got my ego. It was very easy to set up, both via Bluetooth and USB. At $100 this was a great deal and should fit nicely in my D&D/Pathfinder playroom. Now, while I can easily get it working for my needs, I have a few thoughts on this product. These are not cons, just something I noticed and wish it were different.1. As a computer audio conferencing bridge connected via USB, the sound was great when set to the highest setting. To test this, I placed the Ego in the center of a game table, set up a Zoom call with one person, simultaneously played music out loud through the ceiling speaker, and had someone in the room speak out loud. The remote user said he can hear perfectly (both the person speaking and the background music) and I can hear him through the device with no problem. A great example of product quality (so far. *smiles*).2. As a Bluetooth connected mobile phone audio conference bridge, the audio output was MUCH lower. Whilst this could be used if the room was larger (prone to echoes) or if many people were trying to talk (locally and remotely) at the same time, I'm pretty sure the audio output would NOT be enough.3. IMPROVED - The headset port would be a great place to connect an EXTERNAL speaker/audio system; Eco cannot do that in its current form. Here's why: When I connected external speakers to the port (to improve audio output in Bluetooth mode), I could hear fine through the speakers, but the MIC was OFF. I understand why they designed it that way (it's just a headset connector). I just want it to have a separate audio output or smart detection when an audio device is plugged into the headset port and the device's mic is NOT muted. I plan to install it on the ceiling of the playroom in the middle of the table. (see image). Velcro straps should easily hold this lightweight unit to the cross rails of the ceiling tile frame. I'm going to run a USB 3.0 extension cable over the tile to the PC so the entire cable is as discreet as possible. Overall this will greatly improve the setup of my game room as more than one player can be removed if needed. Great product overall Konftel!
