This access point has excellent range. My home is about 3500 square feet and I've tried different routers from ASUS to Netgear and even added a Netgear repeater. None of the solutions actually solved the coverage issue. I've been looking for the new 802.11ac Wave 2 technology hoping it will solve my problem. Several products have emerged, including routers and access points. However, I have decided not to try another router because changing the whole network configuration on the router again can be very frustrating, especially when I have multiple fixed IP addresses on the DHCP server. After reading the reviews I decided on this one. I'm also glad it has a cloud management interface. This means I no longer have to remember 192.168.0.1 or 172.16.0.254 or some other IP address I can never remember, and I can manage them on the go. With that in mind, I really had to update the software on this hotspot to the latest version to get this functionality. This is not mentioned anywhere, only in the customers' questions and answers. Seems to be an oversight on Zyxel's part, or they released the updated software later than the hardware. In any case, after the upgrade, registration in the cloud, registration of the access point and its configuration are simple and straightforward. In terms of performance, I tested some weak spots in my house and found amazing performance. The biggest difference is that Netflix 4K videos now work seamlessly with a Wi-Fi connection, whereas previously I had to use an Ethernet cable. Despite the difficulties in updating the firmware, the excellent performance is enough to give 5 stars :-)
