They worked perfectly on the first try!

They fit me perfectly and I got a good tray set on the first try. I first bought the non-peroxide whitening product Shine Whitening that came with the splint set. I've never tried whitening my teeth and the instructions that came with the kit weren't very good. This set looked quite deformed. Once the plastic stuck together, it was impossible to disassemble. I ordered this set to try again and got a good set of trays on the first try. I filled a glass measuring cup with water and microwaved it for about 1 1/2 minutes until boiling. Then I held the first tray in boiling water for 6-8 seconds until it just started to soften. I drained the excess water and splashed it in my mouth onto my bottom teeth, being careful not to get it on my teeth. Then, with my mouth closed, I sucked in my cheeks. It pulled the tray up to my teeth. Then I checked with my fingers that the splint made contact with my teeth, removed it from my mouth and rinsed it out with cold water. I did the same with the second splint, without boiling the water again, and using the same procedure, placed it on my upper teeth. Again I had the perfect tray. I think problems arise when trays are left in hot water for too long. This will make them too soft and limp. If you try to shake off excess water, the soft plastic will stick together and you'll never take it apart, especially if it's too soft. In general, to get perfect bowls the first time, do one at a time, don't leave them in hot water for too long, shake off excess water (let it drain), and pinch your cheeks to trace the shapes to pull up your teeth.
